Erg Chegaga dunes are 60 km deep when you pass the nearest town M’hamid, This is a truly wild desert and completely isolated. This trip allows you to enjoy the real sahara desert, ride the camels, see fantastic sunset and sunrise, play sandboring in the huge dunes and leave everything behind.
The first day starts from Marrakech when your driver picks you up from your accommodation. Leave the city behind and cross the Tizi n Tichka pass (2160m). Continue to the beautiful villgae of Ait benhaddou, decalared as World heritage site by the UNESCO and backdrop for many movies. Visit Ouarzazate and its beautiful Kasbah of Taourirte then continue our way towards Zagora and M’hamid to spend the night.
Morning departure from M’hamid through the awesome and picturesque Draa valley and its immense palm grove. The dunes of Erg Chegaga are about 60km deep in the desert from the village of M’hamid via an awesome and enjoyable offroad. You will spend the night in a berber nomad tent. Enjoy mint tea around fire and berber music under the countless stars.
After Breakfast and shower to dust off, we take the way back to Marrakech crossing the natural dry lake of Iriqui. We will take a lunch break on the road and continue to Marrakech to arrive around 6 pm.
